Sunday Worship Ministries
Acolytes: Process the cross and assist at the altar in preparation of Communion.
Altar Guild: Prepare the church and altar for worship and Communion.
Bell Ringers: Ring bells after Sunday services.
Broadcast Ministry: Work the livestream video equipment during the service.
Choir: Rehearse weekly and sing at the 11 AM Sunday service.
Coffee Hour Host: Welcome visitors to coffee hour and/or bring snacks & refreshments.
Communion Bread Bakers: Bake bread for distribution at Sunday services.
Greeters: Welcome visitors to services.
Lectors: Read the scripture lessons and/or prayers of the people.
Sunday School: Teach or assist at Sunday School during the 11 AM service.
Ushers: Welcome and assist parishioners & take up and count the collection.
Vergers: Guide and direct the flow of worship, particularly as people come to receive Communion.
Fellowship Groups & Volunteers
Book Group: Meet once a month to discuss a book.
Choir Music Support: Prepare the music in the choir folders and maintain the choir music library.
Children and Youth Ministries: Assists with Family Worship and activities for families with young children.
Church Guides: Give tours of the church and churchyard.
Churchyard Gardeners: Gather monthly to weed, prune, rake, and beautify the churchyard.
Connecting Our Faith: Plan and organize educational events and spiritual formation for the congregation.
Food Cupboard: Prep and distribute groceries weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
History Committee: Share St. Peter's history with the congregation.
Gate Keepers: Lock the gates that surround the churchyard in the evening.
Gravestone Cleaners: Clean the gravestones in the churchyard.
LGBTQ+: Monthly gatherings for fellowship.
Pastoral Care: Assist other parishioners in need of prayer or hands-on help.
Preserve St. Peter's: Raises funds to preserve our historic buildings & grounds, and promotes historic educational programs.
Sages (60s & older): Gather monthly for lunch, conversation, and occasional guest speakers.
Social Justice: Discuss social justice issues and share resources and events with the parish.
St. Peter's Prays with Our Feet: Connects St. Peter’s parishioners to participate in direct actions, protests, and marches
TNT (20s & 30s): Gather for book study groups, potluck meals, and other social events.
Via Media (40s, 50s, 60s): Those traveling through our mid-life chapters meet for brunch or other social events.
Whip, Splatter, Stir: A cooking club for those with Parkinson's Disease.
Youth Group: Youth age 12 and older gather to explore their faith, socialize, and help others.
Administrative Committees
Financial Committee: Meets monthly to review and evaluate St. Peter's finances and draft a budget.
Human Resources Committee
Investment Subcommittee of Finance
Music Advisory Committee: Assists Music Director with music choices and assists with music logistics.
Property Committee: Take care of our church property through maintenance and repair.
Stewardship Committee: Helps plan and advocate for our annual stewardship campaign.
Vestry: Members are elected to make decisions about the church's building, finances, and property.
