The Process:1) Through self-selection, students and their families sign up in WISD schools to be blessed by local churches through the Mission 76165 organization, and complete paperwork that identifies their needs or wants for Christmas this year. [http://www.mission75165.org/]2) Local churches are "assigned" a school in WISD where kids can be "adopted" and the children in the family can receive gifts purchased by church members who receive and shop for their "card" of needs. 3) Every sibling from that high school student's family can sign up. There should be no duplicates across schools.4) Church families who sign up to participate can select or be assigned a child to bless with a gift, several gifts, or a gift card of around $40-50 per child. People can select as many children as they like to "bless" and will bring the unwrapped, bagged gift to their church by the assigned deadline.5) Parents of those WISD students then come to the Night of Wonder event on Dec. 19, 6-8 pm, and pick up their gifts, and also all the fixings for a home-cooked holiday meal. [We will need lots of help this night!]
How You Can Help:Please help us support local students and their families this holiday season by giving in one of the following ways....-- adopting a student and/or his/her siblings to purchase the identified gifts they hope to receive this Christmas-- donating funds to defer costs or purchase gifts/gift cards for unselected students-- serving at the Night of Wonder event -- pray for families and volunteers participating, who will be participating in sharing Good News with people about the wonderful blessings of Christ's love and grace
Please complete the form below to indicate how you would like to help this year at Night of Wonder. Our coordinator, Molly Adams, will be in touch via email with more information after you send this in.
If you have further questions about the program, options for serving, or anything else, please contact Lee Coleman at Waxahachie Bible Church via firstname.lastname@example.org or 972.937.9750. Thanks for helping out!
"Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. 'For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.'” (2 Cor. 9:6-7)
