Master Urban Gardener Winter 2018 Application
Master Urban Gardener (MUG) is an intensive, skill-building training for Massachusetts gardeners. Whether you’re just getting started or have been gardening for decades, MUG covers everything you need know to thrive in a Massachusetts community garden--from vegetable gardening and composting to community organizing. Topics include soil science, botany for gardeners, organic pest and disease management, native edibles, garden planning, and more. The format is primarily lecture-based, with some group and hands-on activities included.

Master Urban Gardener is open to Massachusetts community and residential gardeners who demonstrate a commitment to sharing skills with others. MUG consists of 32 hours of classroom instruction, followed by at least 10 hours of volunteer service. The sessions are on Saturdays from 10am - 3pm with a lunch break, and run from January 20 to March 10. Classes take place at the Trustees Boston Office at 200 High Street, 02110.

Applications are due by November 30. Early applications are encouraged. The course fee is on an income-based sliding scale, ranging from $0 - $250. If you are a beginner and don't have answers for some of these questions, that's fine.
