Blue Sky Fund is currently accepting nominations for the Outdoor Leadership Institute (OLI) for the Summer of 2023. BSF will lead two crews of rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students from diverse backgrounds to come together to build teamwork, confidence, leadership, and community involvement.
The Summer Institute centers on a 5-day backpacking trip during which crew members learn to strengthen their leadership and teamwork skills by confronting the challenges of the wilderness. The program design includes experiences that will help shape knowledgeable, culturally-aware, and empathetic student leaders. After completion of the summer institute, crew members will meet one Saturday a month through the following school year to apply their new skills and explore the social needs of Richmond through meaningful community service.
The dates of the 2023 program are:
Crews 1 & 2: One Service Saturday a month from September to June.
