This course is based on the Foundational Knowledge Themes published by Rupertsland Institute. Métis voices are authentically shared through these themes and woven together with academic research to share the story of the Métis in Alberta.

This free, asynchronous course is open to educators, community members, and anyone interested in expanding their understanding of Métis history, culture, governance, and contemporary realities. Our hope is that learners who complete the course will help strengthen understanding of Métis foundational knowledge and support more meaningful engagement with Métis perspectives, content, and resources across communities, classrooms, and organizations.
