First of all, welcome to the project!
The goal is to build a Hall of Fame focusing on the NBA. (You may give points for time in the ABA/BAA.)
To be clear, the NBA Hall of Fame project isn’t meant to trivialize the accomplishments of anyone already in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. The international, NCAA, and WNBA accomplishments that landed players in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame are extraordinary. This project is simply meant to answer one fan question, “What would an All-NBA Hall of Fame look like and how would we tier the talent?”
Borrowing in part from Bill Simmons' pyramid concept, the NBA Hall of Fame will have three levels of achievement. Tier three being the initial bar and tier one being the pinnacle:
Tier 3: Players worthy of remembrance for their individual accomplishments and team contributions.
Tier 2: Players who stood well above their peers and accomplished great feats.
Tier 1: The absolute elite. Franchise altering talents that raised the bar over their time in the league.
*I've added all players who played in the ABA/NBA currently in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for consideration.
*I've added retired NBA players of note not currently in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for additional conversation.
*Coaches, executives, and other league personnel were not included for consideration at this time.
