'deis IMPACT! Impacter Application
‘deis IMPACT! is a seven-day Festival of Social Justice scheduled for the first week of February, 2019 (Sunday, February 3rd through Saturday, February 9th.) The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is tremendously excited to bring together a diverse group of students to plan and organize this event—affectionately known as Impacters. More so, this group will model and lead campus-wide efforts about social justice. The following paragraphs outline expectations and responsibilities for Impacters.

Impacters are expected to:
 - Care deeply about a theme (or themes) of justice.
 - Cultivate and model a culture of justice and equity on campus by:
     - Encouraging and engaging in dialogue about social justice.
     - Exploring and deepening our understanding of systems of privilege and oppression and their impact.
     - Supporting the creation of truly inclusive spaces—where all members feel physically and psychologically secure and where power is equitably shared.
     - Recognizing our own power and encouraging our peers to be advocates of justice and equity.
 - Become campus leaders and resources for promoting justice.

Impacters—as a group and individually—will be responsible for:
 - Participating in 90-minute weekly meetings.
     - These are scheduled for Tuesdays from 6pm – 7:30pm and dinner will be provided.
 - Attending a day-long off-campus retreat.
     - This is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th.
     - The retreat will be off-campus and all expenses will be covered.
 - Attending a half-day Selection Meeting for ‘deis Impact Programming.
      - This is scheduled for Sunday, October 21st.
      - This will take place from 1pm - 5pm
 - Dialoguing about various social justice themes.
 - Collaborating on the ‘deis IMPACT! Social Justice Festival. For example:
     - Taking the lead on a particular aspect of the program. (e.g., Kickoff or Closing Celebration, Marketing, Social Media)
     - In collaboration with the Program Coordinator, selecting the programs to be included in ‘deis IMPACT! 2019.
     - Serving as liaison to hosts whose programs were accepted.

The Impacter Selection Process is as follows:
