ARTery Go! Call for Proposals
The Salina Art Center is seeking proposals for the launch of our ARTery Go program at the Smokey Hill River Festival, June 14 and 15.

About ARTery Go:
ARTery Go is a mobile, bike powered, art cart connecting neighborhoods, artists, businesses and individuals to artist-created, pop-up art experiences that are purpose-built to pique curiosity and prompt interaction. Pop-up experiences include visual art projects proposed by local artists to be challenging, creative, and interactive. ARTery Go emphasizes socialization with a balance of demonstration, information, and fundamental technical arts education. The full experience is designed to increase exchanges between the artist and the audience where the audience is.

Artist Erika Nelson has been contracted to design and build the cart, expected to be finished in May of 2019. The cart will be outfitted with folding tables and chairs and have space for tubs containing project materials.

About the Call:
Artist will be responsible for designing and implementing an interactive project with the support of Art Center staff. The ARTery Go cart will be pulled by bike to the River Festival grounds, where the artist and Art Center staff will find suitable locations for the proposed activity. This is our opportunity to test how well the cart can be moved and set up in new locations. Different projects will be done each day. Artist may submit multiple proposals. Please complete one form per proposal.

Artist will be expected to be on the grounds of the River Festival with ARTery Go from 10am-12pm and 1-3pm, with a break from 12-1.

Things to keep in mind:
Projects should be hands-on and appeal to a variety of audiences
Projects will be mobile, and all materials and equipment should fit on the ARTery Go cart
Participants can be expected to spend 15-20 minutes working on a project
Projects based in community building and social practice are highly encouraged!

Stipend:
Artist will receive $300 per day
Salina Art Center will provide mileage for artists that live outside of Salina up to $200
Salina Art Center will provide all materials and a volunteer/assistant
Salina Art Center will promote the artist and activities

Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 24
Selected artists will be notified by Friday, May 31
