Hen Hoose is hosting an online town hall to create an open and supportive space for discussion following the recent publication of research by the University of Glasgow. The research highlights experiences of harassment and sexual violence—including rape—reported by female musicians working within the Scottish folk music scene.

We will also explore the need for equality in the Scottish music Industry and the steps that can be taken to create real change.
The session will begin with a brief introduction from Tamara Schlesinger, followed by facilitated breakout rooms for smaller group discussions (size permitting). These conversations will be guided by the questions listed on the next page. Participation is entirely optional—you may choose which questions to answer, remain anonymous, or contribute via the chat if you prefer. After the breakout sessions, we will reconvene to share key points and hold a Q&A.
