Call For Artists: Wild Child Interactive Gallery
Wild Child is an upcoming interactive gallery and play space for young children. We'd like to show kids that "art" can go beyond the wall. We hope to collaborate with Bay Area artists to create an environment where children can freely immerse themselves, inviting them to climb or crawl on sculptures, paint on floors, interact with visual projections, and participate in making a beautiful, dynamic space together. Kids will engage with their surroundings in new ways and leave with a sense of wonder and possibility!
Each installation will target a specific stage of a child’s development, and together form a multi-sensory experience to stimulate curiosity and discovery. We hope to have pop-ups around the Bay Area to test our concept and offer the experience to a wider community of children. Our first installation will take place at the Junior Center for the Arts and Sciences in Oakland, launching Fall 2019.
We’re looking for experiential artists to help create the Wild Child adventure. While we have some specific exhibits in mind, we are also open to commissioning new concepts. These pieces will become part of a traveling collection of works to be shown in galleries around the country.
