ACM Data Science Curriculum Feedback
At the August 2017 ACM Education Council meeting, a task force was initiated to add to the broad, interdisciplinary conversation on data science, with an articulation of the role of computing discipline-specific contributions to this emerging field. Specifically, the task force is seeking to define what the computing/computational contributions are to this new field, in order to provide guidance for computer science or similar departments offering data science programs of study at the undergraduate level.
We welcome your feedback.
Please provide your feedback on the second draft of curricular recommendations, keeping in mind that they are intended for undergraduate programs and that they are meant to focus on computing discipline-specific competencies (with full understanding that data science is multi-disciplinary). Please indicate the sections and page numbers your comments refer to.
Which of the following describe your professional role? You may select more than one, if appropriate.
Please select the fields with which you most closely identify (e.g., areas of training, areas in which you are working currently). You may select more than one, if appropriate. [Note that with the exception of "Data Science", fields are listed alphabetically.]
