The UM CONNECT Mentoring program will match incoming freshmen of color (Latin American, Native American, African American, Asian American, and multi-racial) and first-generation college students with an upperclassmen mentor. Mentors will help to guide and support you throughout your freshmen year.
UM CONNECT will serve as a vital component to the academic and personal success for students. Through e-mail, social media contacts, monthly scheduled events, and 1:1 meetings, mentors will provide additional support that enables you to complete your first year at the University and remain on a course toward graduation.
All interested first-year students of color or first-generation college students are eligible to participate in the UM CONNECT Mentoring Program. Applications are due by Friday, August 25, 2017. Confirmed participants will be contacted via email with additional information.
All UM CONNECT Mentoring Program participants will be asked to attend a Welcome Week Event on August 27th at 4:00 pm.
Please contact The Center for Inclusion & Cross Cultural Engagement at firstname.lastname@example.org or 662-915-1689 if you have any questions or would like additional information.
