University Faculty Showcase Application
Building on the success and popularity of the 2018 University Faculty Showcase, the 2019 International Trombone Festival will feature university faculty in a series of daily recitals focusing on new music, and/or innovative programming. The ITF invites university faculty from around the world to apply. Instrumentation and/or performance format is open, and applicants are encouraged to explore innovation, creativity, and/or a variety of styles. Preference is given to new or emerging music and premieres, but established repertoire that has not yet gained worldwide recognition is also welcomed. Performances should be between 5-15 minutes in length, and trombone (played by the applicant) should be a featured member of the ensemble.

Please note the following policies:
• ITF Presenters receive a 10% discount on Festival fees; however, no financial support for housing, meals, travel, or other ITF-related expenses is provided.

• ITF Presenters must be active members of the International Trombone Association. In cases where presentation includes non-trombone players, or large numbers of students, the director or lead contact must be an active ITA member.

• Non-trombonists who are assisting in performances, and will not attend any Festival events, do not have to register for the Festival. and will be given a guest badge upon arrival. Non-trombonists wishing to attend events are required to register at the non-trombonist rate.

• ITF Presenters must attend the Festival on a Presenter’s Badge. Presenters desiring to attend using an Exhibitor’s badge must request approval from the Festival Director.

• The ITF will provide performing ensembles with chairs, stands, sound reinforcement, audio engineering services, and standard instruments, such as concert percussion and/or a drum set. Additional performance requests, such as video, specific lighting needs, staging (outside of a typical concert setting), or other issues will be accommodated where possible, at the discretion of the Festival Manager.
