ANCA Community Recognition
The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) seeks to resume a practice of recognizing community members as part of our Annual Meeting. In addition to our staff and board, ANCA invites members of our community to submit award nominations for review by ANCA staff who will select up to 5 awardees.

Thank you for taking the time to review the criteria below and submit up to to 3 nominations for recognition at this year's meeting, taking place at Fort Ticonderoga on July 26, 2024.

Awardees will be notified of their award in early July and invited with 2 free passes to the meeting.

Recognition Criteria
ANCA staff will review and recognize awardees who, in the North Country, may be:
  • Advancing A New Economy that Works for All, an economy that is locally-driven, non-extractive  (meaning: money/value/wealth/goods stay local), and inclusive of all members of our community.
  • Challenging norms and structures which exclude some from meaningful participation in our region and/or persisting in advocating for our region in spite of barriers.
  • Inspiring you and others to action.
  • Exemplifying, committed to, and/or advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) values.
  • An unsung hero of the local economy, culture, and community who may be overlooked for other recognition.
  • In alignment with and/or supportive of ANCA's values and program focuses.

Potential Recognizees
The ANCA staff seeks to recognize a diverse slate of recognizees, which may include:
  • Individuals (Organization or business leader, artist, creator, journalist, maker, community leader, elected official, changemaker, organizer, movement leader, issue or cause leader, etc.)
  • Groups (Fraternal or community organization, event planning group, legislative caucus, alliance, council, economic development group, etc.)
  • Organizations (Business, nonprofit, agency, chamber of commerce, institution, media outlet, etc.)
  • Places or communities (Geographic, intellectual, spiritual, creative, etc.)
  • Events (Conference, festival, market, program, exhibition, performance, etc.)
  • Artifacts (Art, play, music, research, report, article, book, podcast, etc.)
