The purpose of this policy is to increase awareness and personal safety while traveling internationally, increase the traveler's awareness of potential targeting by foreign intelligence, provide information and to inform you that you MUST be aware of the potential for danger.

VIGILANCE is Paramount! Be aware of your surroundings at all times
VULNERABILITY AWARENESS: Be aware that you could become a target
PERSONAL SAFETY:Maintain Situational Awareness at all times
TERRORIST THREAT INFORMATION: Take steps necessary to minimize the Threat
ASSISTANCE: If need be or appropriate, contact the Local Consulate or Embassy at your destination. See the brochure in section 3 for additional information concerning Foreign Travel. Go to
U.S. Department of State website for contact information at http://travel.state.gov

BEFORE YOU GO: (Your preparations will depend upon your destination and the trip's length and purpose.)

• Inform others of your itinerary
• You may only use your US Passport to travel to a foreign country
• Register your travel with the Department of State, if applicable
• Check health and immunization information with CDC and WHO
• Establish a point of contact for your family
• Keep all medications in their original container
• Make copies of your passport and other important documents
• Know your destinations local laws and customs
• Take copy of Foreign Contact report with you. Return, if appropriate, when you return from your trip.
