The League of Michigan Bicyclists (LMB) and Michigan Mountain Biking Association (MMBA) are unifying to bolster and broaden the voice of the Michigan bicycling community. We recognize that we are all stronger when we work together.
On Dec 15, 2022, the MMBA board voted to dissolve MMBA as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. MMBA has since filed dissolution paperwork with the IRS and the Michigan Attorney General’s office. As part of this process, MMBA has transferred assets to LMB.
On January 28, 2023, the LMB board adopted a Resolution in support of the LMB/MMBA unification. You can read the full resolution and more background information at LMB.org/MMBA.
Through this unification, the MMBA acronym will remain, but the name will change slightly to be the Michigan Mountain Bike Alliance, and it will become part of the League of Michigan Bicyclists. This retains the well-established MMBA moniker and branding, but also signifies this important organizational shift. As a strategic “Alliance”, MMBA will represent a relationship among people and groups who work together for positive change.
As we roll out this expansion of LMB and change for MMBA, we want your thoughts. We are listening! Please take a few minutes to fill out the form below and please include an email to receive future updates.
