Shubbak (meaning ‘window’ in Arabic) supports and celebrates the diversity of Arab artists' creativity and innovation through its professional, participatory and engagement programmes, national touring and biennial multi-artform festival. Working nationally and internationally, we commission, initiate and develop projects that encourage a wide range of creative approaches in an artist-centred, audience focused process.
Shubbak is celebrating its 15 years anniversary. We will be putting on a very special one night event on 31st of July, 6:30-10 pm in one of London's iconic venues, The V&A South Kensington . The event will have over 10 artistic activations and performances.
Do you want to gain experience, learn new skills, join the Arab arts community and meet new people?
Do you want to go behind the scenes of an international festival and see how it all works?
Whether you’re new to Shubbak or have been involved before, we need your help!
We are interested in hearing from passionate and committed individuals who want to join us to deliver our ambitious programme.
As part of volunteering with us you'll get to meet and network with artists from around the world, gain hands on experience in producing a festival, plus free access to our event (as well as your own snazzy Shubbak t-shirt). Shubbak will cover a small daily allowance for food and travel.
Please register using the form below, or send a video application to volunteer@shubbak.co.uk by 20 July 2026.
As part of your application, you will need to confirm you have completed this Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form. Applications will not be considered unless this step is complete.
Please note, you don't need to have all the skills listed below nor will you be expected to. We welcome everyone to apply and will shortlist and assign roles together based on the information you provide us to see which events/projects would be a good fit for you!
