Jill Mills is an elementary librarian at Milton Avenue School in Chatham (Morris County) working with students from Preschool to Grade 3. During her twelve years as a librarian, she has been very involved at the county level, serving in many board positions on Morris County School Media Association, including President. Jill received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the College of Saint Elizabeth working in corporate Human Resources and Cooperative Education at Caldwell College. After a few years home with her daughters, she returned to school at Seton Hall University to earn a Masters degree in Education with Educational Media specialization, leading to SLMS certification. As a student at Seton Hall, Jill joined MCSMA and stayed involved as she moved to a few districts in Morris County before landing in Chatham. She and her career have benefited greatly from the leadership, programming, and community at both MCSMA and NJASL. In 2010, she was awarded Teacher of the Year in her building and Educator of the Year from the Lakeland YMCA. Jill is currently pursuing a Certificate in Literacy Instruction from Rutgers University and was recently invited to serve on the Board of the New Jersey Literacy Association during their reorganization. She resides in Florham Park with her husband. Her older daughter just returned home after completing a degree at Rutgers and her younger daughter is a sophomore at Northeastern University. Together they have participated in the Great Race Across the Garden State, The New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge, Watson Adventure Scavenger Hunts, and Escape Room.
