 It is with great pride that I invite you to the Service Awards Gala of AFTA (SAGA) 2023 with the theme: “Flipping the Switch: Teachers Committed to Changing the Narrative and Illuminating Valiant Students’ Performance.” This celebration will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 PM at Leonard's Palazzo, Great Neck, NY.

The Association of Fil-Am Teachers of America, (AFTA) Inc. is the premier Fil-Am teacher organization in the United States. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit national organization, which aims to strengthen and advance the teaching profession and provide inclusive services in the national and international settings.  For over 30 years of existence, AFTA continues to implement its advocacies in the United States and in the Philippines through its relevant projects and programs.

In cognizance of our celebration’s theme, we will be honoring teachers, administrators and retirees in the United States. Teachers who have served for at least five (5) years teaching in the U.S.A. will be awarded with academic trophies (Crystal Apple Service Award). AFTA will also bestow the T.A.N.G.L.A.W. (Taglay ay Nagniningning sa Galing, Lingkod ay Wagas) Award for teacher-retirees in the U.S.A. This year, the highlight of this occasion will be the Fil-Am teachers who are our 20th year jubilarians. AFTA will also confer for the first time, the Global Teacher Service Award for teachers who have taught abroad (outside the United States) and have contributed/participated in international educational events.

We are honored to inform you that you are one of the recipients of the Crystal Apple Service Award/TANGLAW Award/Global Teacher Service Award! Our celebration at Leonard's Palazzo will be a formal event (attire: formal/cocktails). It will start off at 11:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The cost of tickets for this affair is $ 150 each (including cocktails, dinner and dance).
