Tide Pool Explorations Class
Looking to get acquainted with the fascinating diversity of marine creatures found on the North Olympic Peninsula? Join Feiro for Tide Pool Explorations.

Our instructor, Alex Hirsekorn, is a Port Angeles native who literally grew up on City Pier and Hollywood Beach. A lifetime saltwater enthusiast, he has been studying marine life for nearly 60 years. Over twenty years of advising aquarists and fifteen years as a naturalist at the Feiro Center Alex has developed the ability to describe complex ecological concepts in easy to understand language.

Classes will last two hours per session and are configured to combine lecture, anecdote, and conversation among participants. The goal of the class is to provide participants with a better understanding of our area's marine environment as well as with the tools to pursue even deeper knowledge. This class is best suited to adult learners.

Class runs 8 weeks from Wednesday April 5 to Wednesday May 24, 6:00pm - 8:00 pm at Feiro. A Salt Creek field study will take place during the morning's negative low tide either Saturday or Sunday April 29 or 30 from roughly 10am-12pm.
