Black Mental Health Manifesto Event - 15 July, Hammersmith

The Black Mental Health and Wellbeing Alliance invite you to an event on Monday 15 July, 6-9pm focused on Black Mental Health and the newly developed Manifesto, which seeks to address the inequalities faced by Black communities in access, experience, and outcomes.

The Alliance is a collective of individuals with lived experience, and grassroots organisations in the mental health sector, with a primary focus on tackling racial inequalities that disproportionately impact Black people.

As an Alliance, we initiated the Black Mental Health Manifesto to gather recommendations for enhancing Black mental healthcare into an accessible document. Our objective is to inform and influence national policy and practice.

The Manifesto serves as a convenient point of reference for the Government, health care professionals, those working in education, practitioners, policymakers and anyone involved in or accountable for instigating change. Through its creation, we are also creating a clear and robust system of accountability to build trust.

Through collaboration, we can dismantle systemic barriers and develop a mental health system that genuinely meets the needs of all communities, including the Black community.

Join us on Monday 15 July, 6-9pm, to learn more about the Manifesto, Alliance, and our wider work and how you can get involved. The event will be an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced and the solutions needed to effect meaningful change.

This event is free to attend and will take place Bechtel House, 245 Hammersmith Road, London W6 8PW. Refreshments will be provided.
