To assist AC Transit in referring you to the appropriate contractors offering pre-apprentice, apprentice, or construction job opportunities, please provide complete and detailed information requested below.


The Targeted Hiring Program for the BRT project encourages contractors to reach the following goals:
 50% Local Area Residents: (of all project hours worked, on a craft-by-craft basis are to be performed by residents of the cities of Oakland or San Leandro)

 20% Apprentices: (of all project hours worked, on a craft-by-craft basis, are to be performed by apprentices total hours worked)

 25% of all Apprentices Hours: (25% of all apprentice hours worked, on a craft-by-craft basis are to be performed by individuals who are classified as Disadvantaged Workers )

Completing this form does not guarantee you admittance into an apprentice program or employment on the BRT project.

Targeted Workers
In 2014 the AC Transit Board of Directors passed the Construction Career Policy to implement targeted hiring strategies focused on individuals with barriers to employment. As part of this policy, contractors working on BRT projects are required to employ new apprentices that have faced any of the following barriers:

Has a history of involvement with the criminal justice system
 Has been homeless
 Has emancipated from the foster care system
 Is a veteran of the U.S Military
 Is a custodial single parent
 Receives public assistance
 Resides in an Economically Disadvantaged area
 Suffering from chronic unemployment
