The Mentor Mom is responsible for bringing an encouraging, Godly perspective on
mothering, womanhood, and relationships, based on biblical principles and her own life experience through one-on-one relationships at her assigned table. The Lead Mentor Mom is her primary resource for mentoring-specific training, questions, and concerns.
1. Intentionally connects with moms at her table during meetings and individually as needed.2. Collects prayer requests and prays for the members of her table.3. Assists DGL with facilitation of discussion time at table.4. Offers hope and encouragement to moms at her table.5. Communicates with Discussion Group Leader (DGL) regularly about the needs of women at her table.6. Leads table's care for moms with deployed spouses. 7. Deepens personal relationships with moms by attending outside table events as able.8. Attends Leadership Team meetings and summer trainings. 9. Thoroughly reviews MOPS Handbooks and becomes familiar with website resources.
Average Amount of Time Spent “On the Job” during a MOPS Meeting: 2 ½ hours
Average Time Spent Throughout the Week: 2 hours
Talents, Gifts, Qualifications:
1. Capable, maturing Christian. 2. Is member of or regularly attends Chapel or a local church. 3. Mother with children who are upper elementary age or older.4. Active or retired military service member or spouse.5. Husband’s approval and encouragement to serve. 6. Working knowledge of and “heart” for God’s Word. Preferably receives spiritual nourishment outside of MOPS in a regular Bible study or Sunday school class. 7. Understands MOPS vision and its purpose.8. Love for women and heart for mentoring and evangelism. 9. Willingness to make a commitment to their table members in prayer and personal contact. 10. Good listening skills.11. Knowledge and experience with presentation of the gospel and skills in equipping and caring for others.
