We want to make sure all CLF alumni and their guardians are clear on what will be expected from Summit participants (on top of what might be expected on a typical Rustic Pathways trip). Please review the below and confirm you are willing and able to meet all the below expectations:
1. In addition to paying the program fee for the Summit, Summit participants and their families will be responsible for booking their own roundtrip airfare to and from their home to Denver International airport (arriving before 12:30pm on Aug 4, and departing after 2pm on Aug 7). Participants will travel on their own until they meet up with CLF staff in the Denver arrivals area on Aug 4, and then be own their own after they go through Denver airport security on Aug 7.
2. CLF participants will do their best to engage proactively, productively, and respectfully in group and 1-on-1 conversations with other CLF alumni and external partners we meet with.
3. CLF participants are excited to do hands-on volunteer work as part of a service project with a partner organization.
4. CLF participants and families understand the accommodations will be sparse, with bunk beds in a large dormitory and a shared bathroom, and food will be basic but nourishing.
5. CLF participants are comfortable spending some time outdoors at the Summit retreat center, which may include hiking and other outdoor activities.
6. CLF participants will prepare and deliver a brief (5 to 10 min) oral presentation about their CLF project(s) to fellow alumni.
