Sign up to volunteer with Michigan United Action (MUA) with our Michiganders for Money Out of Politics (MMOP) campaign! We are doing a ballot initiative to get Money Out of Politics so we need ALL HANDS ON DECK to get 500k signatures.

What is MMOP?

This ballot initiative would establish accountability by preventing regulated monopoly corporations and companies seeking or holding government contracts from making political contributions. This includes corporations such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, DTE, Consumers Energy, UnitedHealth, Verizon, and more.

We will never have healthcare for all until the political influence of health insurance companies is limited. We will never have clean air and clean water until the political influence of corporate polluters (DTE, Consumers Energy) is limited.

Corporations are drowning out our voices! We need money out of politics. WE WANT ELECTED OFFICIALS TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE, NOT CORPORATIONS!

The average volunteer circulator typically gets around 100 signatures per petition. For our 2025, Michiganders for Money Out of Politics petition, I pledge to get: *

At least 1,000 signatures (about 20 people did this in 2022)

At least 500 signatures (over 50 people did this in 2022)

At least 250 signatures (over 150 people did this in 2022)

At least 200 signatures (over 220 people did this in 2022)

MUA-MMOP Committee Leader (create agendas, facilitate meetings, hold folks accountable)

Trainer (train new volunteers in the field on petition circulating and MMOP)

Orientation Lead (run orientation and help onboard volunteers)

Turnout Captain (call/text/email folks that are signed up to remind them of events)

Logistics and Quality Control (review petitions, track numbers in spreadsheets)

Justice Captain (recruit a team of volunteers, support them, and hold them accountable)

Communications (create social media content, write a newsletter, collect stories)

Relational Leads (help with town halls, house parties, and presentations to community groups)
