Oxford Brookes Virtual Subject Taster Sign Up - Individuals - 2020/21
Hello!

We're very glad that you're interested in our free Virtual Subject Taster Sessions, which aim to give first year sixth form and college students an interactive experience of a broad range of different subjects. The sessions live on our platform are:
- Art, Film, Digital Media and Photography
- Built Environment
- Business
- English
- Healthcare (this course is currently undergoing renovation, and will hopefully be ready by Monday 14 December)
- History and Criminology

If you'd like to access these exciting resources, please fill out this short form. Within two working days (Monday - Friday), we'll use the email address you provide below to give you access to Moodle, the platform where the Virtual Subject Taster Sessions are hosted. Please check your Spam folder just in case!

We are required to evaluate all our resources and activities, so this form will also collect some demographic data which will help us to do this. It's completely optional for you to share all of this information with us - the minimum that we need to set you up on Moodle is your email address. What data will we be collecting?
As part of your involvement in the evaluation we will be collecting a range of data about you. This will include your:
• Name
- Email address
• Date of birth
• Postcode
• Gender
• School or College name
• School year
• Disability
• Ethnicity
• Care experience
• Refugee or asylum status
• Eligibility for free school meals
• Your experiences of the event

Sharing your data
Your data may be shared with:
• The Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT)
• Office for Students (OfS)
• The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA)
• University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)
• Other participating Higher Education Institutions (for a full list please see http://heat.ac.uk/what-is-heat/)
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Moodle
• Google Drive Suite
The data is shared so that these organisations can carry out their research, compile statistics and help develop widening participation work.
OBU will not share your records in any way that would identify you without seeking additional permission first.

Your rights relating to your personal information
In certain circumstances, you may:
● ask OBU to rectify information about you that is inaccurate; – correct any mistakes
● ask OBU to erase/delete information about you if the records are not needed any longer either to support your application, a future application, because it is relevant to your contract, or for statistical purposes;
● restrict our rights to process your personal data
● object to your data being processed
● portability – for you to have your data given back to you in an accessible form so that you can take it somewhere else
● withdraw – the right to decide you do not want to take any further part in the research, but you may be happy for us to keep the data you have already provided
If you are not happy with the way your data is being handled you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Will Oxford Brookes University transfer my data outside of the UK?
We will store information about you on google drive, CRM or the HEAT Databases

Are there any consequences of not providing the requested data? No, there will be no consequences and you can still attend the event.

Will there be any automated decision making using my data?
No

How long will OBU keep your data? The university will store your data on the Higher Education Access Tracker Database (HEAT). The maximum amount of time your data will be kept on this database is 17 years as it will track you through your education or until you are 30. Other evaluation data will be stored in line with university regulations.
