Artificial intelligence is being applied to an ever-growing set of business scenarios, where it is used to automate activities and tasks that were traditionally entrusted to people. These scenarios are exciting, but conventional governance principles are simply insufficient to cope with AI’s rapid pace of evolution and dynamic learning process.

Without adequate governance, public trust will be hard to capture. And unless trust exists, users may refuse to use a new technology, share their data with it or rely on the outputs that the technology provides – limiting the potential of digital transformation.
