#1 Determine the educational goals for the child.

#2 Select and purchase educational materials. Note: MHSAP does not provide laptops to students.

#3 Ensure your child(ren) receive the instruction needed to meet your homeschool goals.

#4 Communicate with your supervising teacher and promptly return your teacher's communications with you.

#5 Attend all scheduled meetings. Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice (if possible).

#6 Monitor the student’s progress and provide evidence to the supervising teacher that demonstrates
the progress made.

# 7 (Grades 9-12) Determine the credits earned and assign grades as needed.

NOTE: If you live outside of the Marion Independent School District, you are required to open enroll into the district before enrollment into MHSAP. That process is listed below:

Please complete: Open Enrollment application  Deadline is March 1 OR a qualifying event (see #14). 

Due at the time of application is proof of residency. Acceptable proof of residency (current dated documents within 30 days of registration or address change) that may be used to demonstrate residency in the district include:

  • Purchase contract with possession date or closing date
  • Most recent property tax statement

  • Rental agreement or lease

  • Recent mortgage statement

  • Utility billing statements (water, telephone, cable service, electric, gas, etc.)

Information must clearly state the name of parent or legal guardian, address of residency and business listed on form.  Confidential information (including account numbers or balances) can be blacked out or cut from the form as long as previous items listed are clearly displayed.

A copy of your responses will be emailed to the address you provided.
