Thank you for your interest in hosting a private In My Shoes walking tour for your company, organization, club, or other group. Our tours are on a sliding scale fee, based on organization size to make sure tours are equitable for all.
Tours last roughly an hour and a half including tour time and a Q&A session afterwards. Each participant receives a copy our our youth poetry books red during the tour. Private tours are hosted in the Historic Albina neighborhood where participants learn about the legacy of Black Portlanders from the redlining of the Albina District, the flood of Vanport, and the displacement of people do to urban renewal and gentrification. Tours are led by trained youth ambassadors who share their personal stories, poetry, and perspectives on creating a more equitable future for all of Portland.
To get you started on planning your tour, please complete the information below. Tours can be tailored to the needs of your organization with special discussions on certain topics, guest speakers and dining options to add to the tour.
Tours can happen rain or shine, depending on the preference and openness of your group. Attendees should dress weather appropriate, and wear comfortable walking shoes. All tours are ADA compliant.
