Centering Our Voice: Envisioning Tenant Led Affordable Housing
All are welcome to "Centering Our Voice: Envisioning Tenant Led Affordable Housing” Wednesday, May 27 6:30pm to 8pm at Sacred Heart Community Service (1381 S. 1st St, San Jose).  Entrance is free.  And while walk-ins are welcome, we ask that you please register in advance using this form.  

When it comes to housing, far too often tenants have little to no voice in the management of their building.  Everything from whether or not rents will rise to when a leaky faucet gets fixed is often dictated by the landlord, resulting in challenges, frustrations and, many times, displacement.  But what if tenants had the power to decide?  What if, as tenants, our voice was centered from the start?  Join us for an interactive conversation about what tenant run affordable housing could look like.  What would you like to see?  And learn about a unique opportunity to join with the Sacred Heart Housing Action Committee to help make that vision become a reality!  This event is a collaboration between  cohort members of SV@Home’s Brick by Brick Fellowship program and the Sacred Heart Housing Action Committee  (SHHAC).

Todos son bienvenidos a "Centrando a Nuestro Voz: Visualizando viviendas asequibles liderada por los inquilinos" Miércoles 27 de mayo, de 6:30pm a 8pm, en Sacred Heart Community Service (1381 S. 1st St, San José). La entrada es gratuita. Si bien se admiten visitantes sin reserva, les pedimos que se registren con anticipación utilizando este formulario.

En materia de vivienda, con demasiada frecuencia los inquilinos tienen poca o ninguna voz en la gestión de su edificio. Desde el aumento de los alquileres hasta la reparación de un grifo que gotea, todo suele estar dictado por el propietario. Pero, ¿y si los inquilinos tuvieran el poder de decidir? ¿Y si, como inquilinos, nuestra voz fuera la protagonista desde el principio? Acompáñanos en una conversación interactiva sobre cómo podría ser una vivienda asequible gestionada por los propios inquilinos. Que quisieras ver? ¡Y descubre una oportunidad única para unirte al Comité de Acción de Vivienda del Sagrado Corazón y ayudar a hacer realidad esta visión! Este evento es una colaboración entre los miembros de la cohorte del programa de SV@Home Beca Ladrillo a Ladrillo y el Comité de Acción de Vivienda del Sagrado Corazón (SHHAC).
