Des Plaines Arts Council Scholarship Application-High School
Eligibility
All students applying must have a Des Plaines postal address.
Students who have been awarded a scholarship will not be eligible two consecutive years.
Applications will be judged in two age categories:
4th through the 8th grade – Up to $500
9th through the 12th grade – Up to $1,000
Scholarships are to be used for tuition to study the fine, performing, digital media or literary arts. Eligible programs include, but are not limited to, supplies, materials, instruments, freshman college tuition, specialized training, private lessons, summer camps or special programs in any facet of the fine, performing, digital media or literary arts.
Scholarships must be used no later than December 31, 2021.
Application
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Final selection will be made by the Des Plaines Arts Council Scholarship Committee.
Selection is NOT based on financial need.
All scholarships are awarded on the basis of the original information submitted, see reverse side for details.
Any changes in plans after the original application is accepted may make the student ineligible.
All applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2020.
Process
Students who have been awarded a scholarship will be notified on or around May 1, 2020. Awarded recipient names will also be posted on our website at DPArtsCouncil.org. Check our website for scholarship updates prior to calling. Checks will be sent to the school or program, not directly to the student or parent, except in the case of college tuition. It is the responsibility of the student to provide appropriate billing information to the Arts Council, including the scholarship recipient’s social security number.
