Tutoring-Fall 2025
Northern Virginia Resettling Afghan Families Together (NOVA RAFT), Fresh Start Refugee Assistance Center, and George Mason University’s Afghan Refugee Mentorship Program (GMU ARMP) have formed a dynamic partnership with the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) and student leaders at Alexandria City High School (ACHS) allowing us to serve the highest need Afghan refugee middle and high school students for school year literacy and academic enrichment. The program includes English classes, subject-specific tutoring for high school students, career exploration, as well as exciting outings.

Evening and Saturday Tutoring at William Ramsay Recreation Center on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6-8:15 PM and Saturdays from 11 AM - 1 PM. NOTE: Volunteers may sign up for one or more shifts.
Weekday after school tutoring at Alexandria City High School or Francis C. Hammond Middle School (exact dates and times TBD) NOTE: Volunteers may sign up for more than one shift
