Jiv Daya Foundation STEP Grant Application: 2018-2019
The Jiv Daya Foundation is a family nonprofit foundation seeking community partners for the Student E-Reader Program (STEP). The goals of this grant program are to improve student academic achievement by harnessing technology to support innovative teaching, particularly in under resourced 3-5 classrooms, and to bridge the digital divide to equitably prepare students for academic success. The Foundation seeks to partner with motivated schools to bring digital devices to all students in grades 3rd through 5th and is accepting applications on a rolling basis. If selected, schools contribute 20% to the grant donation.
Eligibility: Grant applications will be accepted from school representatives for campuses serving grades 3-5 in accredited, public schools in the United States. If awarded, the campus agrees to (1) Contribute 20% of the kindle donation or a mutually agreed upon equivalent, (2) Provide locked storage for all donated devices, (3) Actively participate in all JDF required training, (4) Host the JDF team for two formal classroom observations, and (5) Submit a short report upon project completion detailing academic and programatic results, that includes digital photos and quotes/anecdotes. Photo releases are required for any included images.
