COVID - 19 Emergency Relief Grant Application
To support the hospitality industry as we continue to navigate the novel Coronavirus pandemic, Detroit Kitchen Terminal (DKT) has established the COVID - 19 Emergency Relief Grant Fund to support workers impacted by layoffs and loss of wages as a result of state mandated dining restrictions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, restaurant closures, or overall loss of business due to the pandemic.
The Detroit Kitchen Terminal Emergency Relief Fund is intended to be awarded on a first-come-first served basis to members of Detroit’s hospitality industry that are experiencing economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that meet the prescribed eligibility criteria detailed below, as reviewed and verified by Detroit Kitchen Terminal. A grant of up to $500 will be disbursed directly to the applicant pending DKT’s review and verification that their submitted application meets the prescribed guidelines. Availability of awards will be based on available funds.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE FUNDING?
Eligible applicants reside in Detroit, Highland Park, or Hamtramck; and is a former full time or part time employee that has been laid off from a Detroit based restaurant or food business as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
IF I'M NOT ELIGIBLE, HOW WILL I KNOW?
If we're unable to fulfill your application because of ineligibility, cannot verify employment information or for other reasons, we will indicate that in our response.
HOW WILL YOU VERIFY MY RECENT EMPLOYMENT?
We will verify recent employment by contacting your recent employer or you can submit a PDF of your last pay stub.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS?
Completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants can expect to receive a response if and when we have funds available to fulfill the request.

HOW WILL DKT DISTRIBUTE GRANT FUNDS?
Funds will be dispersed directly to the applicant as funds are available. We prefer to submit payments via Paypal, but we're able to submit a limited number of payments via check by mail, Cashapp, or Venmo as well. You will be able to select your preference in the application.
IS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION SAFE?
All information received will be used ONLY for the purposes of processing Detroit Kitchen Terminal COVID-19 Emergency Grant Relief applications.
WHAT IF THE DKT FUND RUNS OUT OF MONEY?
If we're unable to fulfill your application due to lack of funds, we will keep your application open and on file, until we raise or receive additional funds to fulfill it.
