To learn more about what NHS is, visit the national page https://www.nhs.us/students/membership.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization in the United States and consists of many chapters in high schools, including ours here at Rochester High. Selection is based on four criteria: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.

Application Requirements:
1. Must be a current sophomore or junior.
2. Must have and maintain a current GPA of 3.5 or above.
3. Must complete all two parts of the application process listed below.

Application Process:

A letter submitted by you which includes description of the following:
• Reasons you want to be a member of NHS.
• Community activities in which you are involved.
• Leadership roles you have assumed.
• Service projects in which you participated.
Your letter will be judged on content and appearance, so this is your opportunity to boast about your accomplishments and submit your best quality writing, as neatness and spelling will count.
