FEES PER YEAR: Instrumental Tuition: €130 per Instrument for the year (22 lessons).

Firhouse Community College provides a variety of programmes which help students to develop life skills while experiencing the delights of creating and performing music. The SDCC & Music Generation South Dublin Music Lessons Initiative, gives students an opportunity to benefit from the positive influences of music lessons. These lessons provide something for everyone as students can perform in groups or as individuals. Lessons are provided for voice, guitar and piano on a first come, first serve basis.

Applications should be made to Ms Healy using the attached form by Wednesday September 12th.
Pupils must reapply each year and are allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.

Pupils who apply before this date are GUARANTEED a place.
We will endeavour to find teaching places for late applicants but this cannot be guaranteed.

Fees will be payable twice during the year. The full fee for the year is €130.
The fees for term one of the instrumental lessons will be charged in September. The termly charge of €65 is the fee per instrument. The full fee for the term must be paid in full online by Monday 1st October or the lesson will be cancelled for the student.
The fees for term two of the instrumental lessons will be charged in January. The termly charge of €65 is the fee per instrument. The full fee for the term must be paid in full online by Monday 28th January or the lesson will be cancelled for the student.

Lessons are taught during school hours and every effort is made to reduce disruption to academic work.
Pupils are excused for one 40 minute lesson per week on a rotational basis.
Notice of each lesson is given in advance by way of a posted timetable on the music notice board and pupils are REQUIRED to check their lesson time each week. Students will also receive a sticker from their instrumental teacher which is placed in their journal.

Should a pupil be unable to attend their scheduled lesson they must advise their instrumental teacher (or Ms HEALY: IN ADVANCE, to ensure that alternative arrangements can be made.
Attendance at music lessons is compulsory and pupils are expected to practise regularly between lessons.

Applications are generally made for an academic year but should parents/guardians wish to discontinue music lessons: Cancellation must be given in writing to Ms Healy at least six weeks in advance. Fees are payable in full during this six-week period.

The College does not insure privately owned instruments. Parents are strongly advised to make sure that they have adequate insurance cover.
The College does not accept responsibility for instruments damaged or stolen.
