Topics covered in this Marketing Workshop will include:

* Marketing to get more sales from retailers, online or commissions
* How to start selling online or how to sell more online (driving traffic and turning interest into sales)
* Creating a Marketing Plan and learning what marketing activities are the most effective.

Followed by a Q&A where Patricia will answer questions about any aspect of your business.

This will be a chance for you to meet Patricia, who is an inspirational business coach for creative businesses, and also the opportunity to network with other creative businesses in Cornwall.

Who is this for?:

This workshop is aimed for people who are either starting out on their business and want to start selling online, or if you have already established your business and would like to get more sales, find your idea customer, and reach a broader market but aren't sure where to start to push that bit further afield. Patricia coaches many creative businesses, including (but not limited to) illustrators, designers, galleries, independent shops, jewellers and ceramicists.

Lunch: Lunch and refreshments are provided. Please indicate if you have any food intolerances when you book your space.

Parking: Parking is available at the hotel, please car share if possible.

Schedule: The schedule of the day is in the process of being planned, and details will be made available to you nearer the time, along with directions on how to get to the venue.

What is The Design Trust?

The Design Trust was set up in 1994 by the late Peta Levi MBE to provide business training to craftspeople and designers. In 2011 creative business adviser and trainer Patricia van den Akker turned the organisation into an online business school for designers and makers, providing specialist and practical business training to makers across the UK and overseas, attracting 50K visits/month on www.thedesigntrust.co.uk.

Patricia has worked for over 20 years with 1,000s of designers and makers through practical and thought-provoking workshops and talks at major events and at many universities across the UK. She has worked with craft fair and trade show organisers such as Made London, Handmade in Britain, GNCCF, Top Drawer/Craft London. She provides coaching for the Crafts Council and for the last 5 years wrote the business column The Design Doctor for Crafts Magazine.

She is known for her inspiring, practical but strategic approach to creative business development. She loves to boost your business and marketing knowledge, but more importantly increases your confidence and gets you into action to turn your new insights into a better business.

In 2015 I enrolled on Patricia's online Giftware webinar workshops, and then finally met Patricia in person at the Etsy Captains Summit in London, and have followed Patricia's Dream Plan Do planner for my own business.
