Equality Federation invites our member organizations and national/ regional partners to submit workshop proposals for our annual Leadership Conference, which will be held July 20-22 in Minneapolis, MN.

Leadership Conference is an important opportunity for the leaders of our state-based movement and our national partners and major funders to come together to connect, share best practices and engage with each other on the challenges and opportunities we face.

Things to consider when preparing your proposal:

1. Audience:
Attendees will be staff (paid and volunteer) and board members of state equality groups, as well as staff of national partners and funders.

2. Content:
Content can include anything that is relevant to the work of state equality groups. You can assume a baseline understanding of LGBTQ issues and the movement; "101" sessions won't be relevant on most topics. Past presentations have included issue briefings, skills trainings, and facilitated conversations about current challenges.

Sessions that focus only on one state or the work of one particular organization are unlikely to be accepted; feel free to talk to us about ideas of other groups to partner with who are doing related work.

3. Presenters
We strongly encourage sessions that include presenters from statewide organizations, BIPOC, and people who are trans/GNC-identified. Panel sessions whose presenters are all-male or all-white are unlikely to be accepted as submitted.

4. Format:
Workshop sessions are 75 minutes in length. All sessions must include a strong interactive component. We prefer interactive approaches that go beyond question and answer to formats that encourage participants to share their own experiences and expertise, such as facilitated discussion or group activities. EFI staff are available to help you develop interactive strategies for your session.

To respect your time, we are asking for a minimal amount of information now. If your workshop is accepted, we will request additional details such as a pithy description for the program guide. In the event we receive similar or related proposals we may contact you to encourage collaboration with other potential presenters.
