SEEKING PROPOSALS for Youth Learnshops, Adult Learnshops, and Tours PROPOSALS DUE by TUESDAY, MAY 22
At the first 2018 Local Program planning meeting the committee reflected on GLBD’s vision and mission statement. We pondered the question “What are you experiencing or observing about this time in Detroit, Southeast Michigan and beyond?” Committee members then brainstormed topics they saw as important to consider, to learn, to share and to celebrate at this 2018 Conference. After several conversations and reviewing the feedback from the 2017 conference, the Local Program Committee decided on the framework for the 2018 GLBD Conference Learnshops and Tours.
CONTEXT: What Holds Everything Together? Tools for Living as One Earth Community
FOCUS: Relationship, Communication, Respect for all Life, The Commons, and Spirituality INTENTION: Engage participants in a learning experience that invites all to explore topics, to develop skills and to take actions for Living as One Earth Community.
CONTENT: In relation to the CONTEXT, Learnshops and Tours need to address one or more of the five FOCUS categories above.
It is in this CONTEXT and with this INTENTION that the Local Program Committee seeks Learnshop and Tour proposals for the 2018 Conference. The committee plans to offer 6 Tours, 7 Youth Learnshops and 5 Adult Learnshops on Friday. Saturday, we will offer 5 morning and 5 afternoon Adult Learnshops.
Learnshop and Tour presenters engage participants and invite them to action. Presenters contribute to the Focus and Intention of the GLBD Conference.
In gratitude for your participation we offer complimentary registration and lunch. It is our hope that presenters attend the conference.
Please take time to reflect on the above before writing your proposal.
PROPOSALS DUE by Tuesday, MAY 22
