**Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. **
This application is for our main Centre Volunteers. We will have a separate application for Camp Eclipse, and 2SLGBTQIA+ Warm Line Volunteers.
Centre Volunteers are expected to take one shift a week (generally 2.5 hours) - you pick your own shifts so don't worry about having a varied schedule
. We also require a minimum 6 month commitment for volunteering.
At the centre duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answering the phone or handling walk ins - answering sexual health questions, booking appointments, and generally assisting clients
- Walk in pregnancy testing and options counselling.
- Completing urine STI tests for patients
- Set up and tear down of clinic (cleaning of speculums/other medical instruments, clinic itself, restocking, etc)
- Preparation for clinic - reminder calls, pulling files, putting away files
- General tidying and clerical work.
- Helping with small projects around the centre.
- Helping with fundraising events
- Assisting in giving educational presentations or working at outreach booths.
Basically we train our volunteers to help with everything we do at the centre!
In general, weekday daytime availability is preferred - if you only have evening/weekend availability, you can apply but we cannot guarantee that we will have the capacity to take on folks without weekday daytime availability.
We are currently recruiting for our Spring training - it is important that centre volunteers selected attend the full 2-day weekend training (1 day virtual and 1 day in person - currently slated for March 7th and 8th, 2026).
