Food insecurity at Cornell is real. The 2017 Perceptions of Undergraduate Life and Student Experiences (PULSE) survey indicated that more than 1 in 4 (27.9%) students skip meals due to financial constraints, this is a 5% increase since the 2015 PULSE survey.

Our team at Anabel’s Grocery is dedicated to solving this problem by offering a centralized place where students can purchase groceries, learn more about food, and participate in a passionate community focused on inclusivity; ultimately empowering students to cook wholesome meals, engage with their food environment in a meaningful way, and not break the bank- all at the same time.

Who is an HR Manager?
Term: January 2019- December 2019

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Work with Hiring Lead and Design Team to develop all applications and hiring materials
-Maximize reach by working with the PR Team to actively seek opportunities for advertising open positions (ex: emailing listservs, tabling, presenting at club meetings)
-Coordinate and conduct interviews with relevant Team Managers and Leadership Team members
-Establish hiring timeline and interview/selection procedures
-Develop and/or update applications by strict deadlines
-Coordinate interview times with applicants and Leadership Team members

Member Relations
-Communicate Anabel’s values and expectations to new and existing members using the Member Orientation Handbook and training presentations
-Ensure that all members embody Anabel’s core values and treat one another with respect
-Identify cross-team or interpersonal tensions and work with the Labor Relations Specialist to resolve perceived inequities, acting as a spokesperson for all parties

Performance Reviews
-Solicit anonymous peer feedback and compile personnel files on all members
-Conduct semesterly performance reviews based on member engagement, attitude, and quality of work; allowing for personal growth and reflection
