To list puppies members must ensure they meet the following standard:
Essential:1. Both parents hip scored below 12 or both parents scores when added together totalling 20 or below.
2. Both parents must also be elbow scored and these scores must meet the BVA and Breed Council guidelines of 0.
3. Both parents must have either a current clear eye certificate (issued in the last 12 months) or had such a certificate at the time of mating.
4. Where foreign dogs are used, proof must be provided by breeders (photo/scan of documentation acceptable) to the Coordinator, that hip scores are A or B, before inclusion on the register can be made. Elbow scores and other test results as per UK guidelines.
Recommended:In line with the recommendations of the Kennel Club Ltd we strongly advise that one parent is genetically Clear for the PRCD1 gene mutation It is the belief of the committee that these are the minimum standards for Best Practice.
The committee acknowledge that other tests exist and the use of these test is encouraged. (See http://www.ndlabclub.co.uk/health.html)
We believe these standards are currently the most stringent in the UK - making this list from a health perspective - a list that most breeders should be happy to point puppy buyers towards.
Once accepted, names and phone numbers will be available from the list coordinator and if the seller wishes on the club website, until the Breeder informs us that the puppies are no longer available, or 3 months has passed.
