CALL-OUT: Echoes of the Line
Do you have a British railway-based story to tell? The Mixed Museum's new digital exhibition and audio series, Echoes of the Line, will explore how Britain’s railways have shaped the lives of mixed-race and multiracial individuals, families and communities from the 19th century until the year 2000.

GET INVOLVED: we need your help!

Did one of your parents, grandparents or other relatives work on the railways? Did you or people you know travel by train to move home or connect with family or friends? Was it a vital route to work or did it play a role in family romances? Did you travel by train to go on holiday? If you have a story to tell – funny, dramatic, sad or seemingly very ordinary – we’d love to hear it. We’ll choose a range of stories to include in the exhibition and the second episode of the podcast, which will cover mixed race and multiracial railway stories after World War Two.

If you have a story to tell, please answer the questions below.

Please note that we will read every story, but since we are a small team, we won’t be able to respond to everybody. Nothing will be used or published without us first getting in touch with you.
