Hello!
This is a sign up form for disabled visitors and stakeholders of BAM (the Brooklyn Academy of Music). This focus group is a way to glean information about the strengths and challenges surrounding access at BAM in hopes that BAM can improve on its practices in the future. Stories and information collected from this group will be a part of an Access Audit of BAM conducted by Alison Kopit. In this focus group, we will be discussing issues of disability and access at BAM. Data from these interviews will inform the Access Audit Report and help Alison make recommendations.
The interview groups will be recorded, but I (Alison Kopit) will be the only person to access the video recording and transcript. No one will be named by name in any report generated, though a few direct quotes may be used with permission. People in the interview groups will be asked to keep any information shared by others confidential. If anyone decides they would rather not share openly in the focus group or would like to elaborate at a later date, an anonymous form will be provided to fill out at your convenience to further inform the process.
The focus group will be capped at 10 participants and is first come first served. If you are not selected but meet the criteria, you will be sent a form through which you can give your input.
Compensation: If selected, you will receive a pair of tickets to the newly renovated BAM cinema.
If you have any questions or need to change any information before or after the audit, please email me at alison.kopit@gmail.com.
Thank you!
Alison Kopit
