About the Youth Leadership TrackThe COLAGE Youth Leadership Track is a pathway to support leadership development for all people with LGBTQ parents or caregivers ages 7-21+. The Youth Leadership track is a way to support our emerging youth leaders through multiple levels of leadership. With each level, new roles and responsibilities will become available. There is no time limit to how long youth choose to be a part of each level of leadership, only age requirements. The Youth Leadership track entry program will teach participants about COLAGE and what it means to be an advocate within our community. To enter the YLT, participants needs to complete this entry form and choose which level of leadership best fits them. From there the National Program Director will match them with the program(s) they chose and connect them with a network of peers within their same leadership level. Within the first year of the program, youth 13+ will be trained in media and public relations, in order to be a stronger outspoken leader in our community.
RequirementsAll participants of the Youth Leadership Track need to have attended at least one COLAGE program in their lifetime. COLAGE programs help YLT members understand more about COLAGE and our social justice framework. People who wish to join the YLT but have not attended a COLAGE program need to contact Kaley@colage.org to learn more about upcoming events in their area or virtual trainings meant to build more just leaders in our community.
