TSSU Executive Committee Stipend Request
In order to receive your Executive Committee stipend, please complete this form and submit your semester or exit report (see below). Make sure you've provided your Social Insurance Number (SIN) via the Volunteer Information form so we can issue you a T4A at the end of the year if you earn $500 or more in stipends.
The stipend amount is $360 per semester (or $90 per month), except for the Treasurer who receives $280 per month (or $1120 per semester).
Stipended Executive members must formally request their stipends and, at the end of the semester, must present a report of their activities to the Executive. The report should:
--> summarize completed tasks, duties, and projects, as well as any work not completed;
--> identify both successful methods of carrying out duties and problems to watch out for;
--> identify any union procedures or structures which make it difficult for the member to carry out assigned duties and, if possible, make recommendations for change
All non-SO Executive members may claim a prorated stipend for each month of their term. If a non-SO Executive member has attended an Executive meeting during the month, or has provided regrets to that meeting with an accompanying report summarizing completed tasks, duties, and projects, as well as any work not completed, then normally the stipend request for that month will be granted automatically.
Upon submission of an exit report and updated institutional memory document, and upon completion of training of the new Executive member, an outgoing non-SO Executive member may claim up to one month’s stipend for the month following the end of their term.
All stipends are granted according to the Stipend Policies in the TSSU By-Laws (
). Stipends will be processed monthly through e-transfer or Vancity transfer, if you are a Vancity member. Please ensure you provide the email that is associated with your bank account or your Vancity number. Please allow up to 4 weeks weeks for processing. If you answered 'yes' to the previous question, indicate the amount and activities for which you are requesting the Travel Subsidy. Please include dates and event type (e.g. Travel to Executive Committee Meetings, Feb 6 & March 21 = $10):
