To enhance student learning, the District provides access to educational software that aligns with our high standard for online safety. These digital tools have been approved through the District’s privacy/security review process. This process ensures compliance with Access to Information and Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) legislation, the Schools Act 1997, and the NLESD Privacy Policy.
The personal information used by the core digital tools listed below includes your child's name, email address, profile picture, and may include grade and school. These tools comply with current security standards, are private by default, and the student keeps ownership of all created materials. The software programs do not rent or sell user information and do not advertise to users.
Google Workspace for Education is the District’s main suite of digital tools to support learning, collaboration and productivity in K-12. Additional Core Digital Tools
Other digital tools may be approved throughout the school year, including those that connect to the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 systems. Any such tools will be vetted through the same privacy/security review process to ensure they meet or exceed the privacy/security requirements for core digital tools. Parents/Guardians will be notified if a school chooses to use these applications.

You may receive additional consent forms throughout the school year if a school chooses to use tools that require additional personal information than what is covered by this form.
