ALL students attending Marine City Middle School in the 2018-2019 School Year as 6th THROUGH 8TH GRADERS are invited to fill out the online form to apply for CAST.
Please note that THIS form is for ALL Marine City Middle School students interested in CAST in Mariner Drama Junior's Thursday, March 21st, 2019 @ 7 p.m. performance of 1-2 One Acts. In addition, there will be one student matinee performance on Thursday, March 21st during the school day. Students in the cast will rehearse and perform on that day, so they will miss school.
At this point, we intend to cast 20 student One Act (30-40 minute) show based on potential, confidence, good grades and keeping good grades, and availability. IF 15 to 20 students are interested and meet our qualifications, we may add a SECOND One Act to that evening to expand the cast. At this point, for our FIRST adventure, we're keeping it pretty simple.
Rehearsals will begin officially the week of January 21st, 2018. Rehearsal schedule will be light throughout each week until we arrive in March. Rehearsals may be after school, or they may be later. With the exception of tech week nights (March 19th and 20th), all rehearsals will be MCMS or MCHS (Room 218). Excessive absences will not be allowed.
STUDENTS MUST BE available during our MINI tech week dates. If they cannot be available for our short, short tech week, please do not audition.
ALSO, if you have currently have LOW grades and are struggling, this is NOT the show to be a part of. Academics, good grades, are very important to drama nerds.
Actors will be expected to memorize lines, take direction from Mr. McCulloch and his high school directors/mentors, and the maintain a positive attitude. Mariner Drama does not encourage or support cliques. So everyone in your cast will be treated as "drama family", loved and accepted by ALL.
Please note that members of this show will be responsible for the retrieval of costume. Costumes will generally what middle school students wear now. If I add a second One Act, we may need some "torn clothing" for our zombies. This will be the responsibility of the STUDENT ACTOR.
Most lined parts will receive a script. Any script costs will be the responsibility of the ACTOR to pay. Scripts typically cost around $10.
Those that receive a part will be asked to help promote and get family, friends, neighbors to purchase tickets to the show. Any script costs will be the responsibility of the ACTOR to pay. Every show has costs with royalties and some props and other expenses. We will need
