January 2026 STA Safety Award For Teachers- Saturday 10th January 2026 - Theory, first aid and CPR practical at Enhance Dental Clinic, Ely, CB6 3NX 9.30am-2pm, then a 2 minute drive to the pool at Witchford, CB6 2HL 3pm-5pm
You must be 14 years or older to attend this course and:
Be able to swim 25 metres OR...
Learners who cannot swim 25 metres must be capable of wading, and effecting a rescue, in a pool with a depth no greater than chest height.
No further pre-requisites - no membership or other qualifications necessary.
You must bring photo ID with you to the session.
There will be a multiple choice theory paper as well as ongoing practical assessment throughout the day.
The practical assessment includes:- Demonstrating CPR on resuscitation mannequins
- Demonstrating using an AED
- Various types of aquatic rescue
- Retrieving a mannequin from the pool floor (2.5m)
- Removing a casualty from the pool
- Incident management
This course costs £100 per candidate.
