AU18 Wellness Coaching Application
Wellness Coaching is a free service offered through the Student Life Student Wellness Center that supports college students by enhancing holistic wellness, health, and success through empowering conversations. As a coach, you will provide one-on-one sessions with students to help them create the life they want to live, both now and in the future. Wellness coaches take a positive approach to personal development, focusing on each student’s strengths and using the 9 Dimensions of Wellness model as a framework for generating goals that are meaningful for them. As a coach, you will empower students by helping them identify and utilize personal strengths to achieve their goals. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes.

• Cultivate skills in motivational interviewing, strengths based dialogue, and positive psychology
• Gain extensive knowledge on wellness related issues facing the college student population
• Become part of a diverse team of nonjudgmental students dedicated to promoting wellness
• Connect with professional staff and become involved with campus-wide wellness conversations


• Must be affiliated with The Ohio State University (student, staff, or faculty)
• GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Strong communication skills and a passion for educating and helping others
• Previous coaching experience is not necessary

Wellness Coach Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Commit to coaching for at least 2 semesters (AU19 & SP20 semesters)
• Coach a minimum of 3 hours (3 sessions) a week once fully trained
• Be available for monthly, 2-hour group supervision meetings
• Be available for a 1:1 meeting with supervisor once a semester
• Attend additional ongoing trainings throughout the semester as needed
• Must attend the complete Wellness Coach Training. Training will take place the following dates:
• Friday (January 11, 2019): 3-7pm
• Saturday (January 12, 2019): 9am-3pm
• Sunday (January 13, 2019): 11am-4pm

Deadline to complete application is October 19, 2018. We will then reach out to all applicants by October 29th, 2018.
